Importing and Exporting Data Locally with Ftax Forms
Ftax allows you to export to an XFDF file on your own PC or to your account on Ablegatio’s servers. Information on how to save and retrieve your data remotely can be found in the video ‘Importing and Exporting Data Remotely with Ftax‘

1. To STORE the data on your own computer:
Click ‘Export’ when you are ready to save and choose the bottom option:

2. When prompted, select a location and file in which to save the data:
3. To IMPORT data which has been stored on your own computer:
Click ‘import’ on the front page of the form, select the bottom option and browse to select the file to import:

If you are an Agent, you may also wish to export and save your client’s basic data which will remain the same in subsequent year se.g. name, address and National Insurance number,. This may then be imported into next year’s form to begin their tax return.

4. You may also save client data within the Ftax PDF form
To do this, click on the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of the Welcome page and browse to a suitable location. This is not however recommended however as the PDF file size is very large. XFDF files are considerably smaller, as they contain only data.
