The following Privacy Policy forms part of the Ftax Terms and Conditions and will help you to understand how the personal information provided by you will be treated by us.

We are committed to the responsible, secure and safe management of your data for the purpose of providing you with the Ftax Product (“Product”) and on-line tax return service (“Service”). The information that you provide to us will only be used for the purposes of providing you with the Product and Service, so that we can (i) process your payment and purchase of credits for the use of the Product and Service; (ii) populate your tax return forms; (iii) submit your tax return forms to HM Revenue & Customs (“HMRC”); and (iv) (only if you so require) store your information so that you can review your historic tax return records.

We may also use your information to provide you with an Ftax newsletter and to inform you of similar products and services, but only if you have provided us with your consent to do so.

Apart from the Product and Service, your information will not be used in any other product or service provided by Ablegatio Limited.

We are mindful of the importance of upholding the security of information under our control. All information you provide to us via the Ftax website located at www.ftax.co.uk ('Website') that is stored electronically, is stored on secure servers, and we have stringent security and confidentiality procedures covering the storage and disclosure of such information, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 (“DPA”).

Storing your personal information

If you request us to store your personal information, this will be stored in a private area accessible by you as part of the Service.  Specifically in respect of the optional Ftax Records Service, the following storage provisions apply:

When the Ftax Records Service is cancelled or a payment fails, You will no longer have access to the Ftax records data via Your Ftax account, unless You send Us an email requesting the ability to download Your Ftax Records data manually. Please note that your Ftax Records data will start to be deleted within 12 months from cancellation (and fully deleted within 14 days after such period).  

Following the date of cancellation of Your Ftax Records Service, Your Ftax Records data will continue to be recorded for a further 12 month period, unless an email is sent requesting data recording to be stopped immediately. The reason we do this is to give You the opportunity to change Your mind in case You wish to repurchase the Ftax Records within such 12 month period. If You do make a repurchase within the 12 month period, You will be charged for the intervening period. Further information regarding such charges are available on the FAQ’s page. If You do not repurchase the Ftax Records within such 12 month period, then the Ftax Records will start to be deleted within 12 months from cancellation (and fully deleted within 14 days after such period). 

Any e-mail or mobile telephone numbers provided to us will be recorded and used to communicate with you in connection with the Product and Service or queries concerning the data held within the Ftax forms. We will only use your information for marketing purposes if you consent to such use.

What information do parties other than Ablegatio collect?

Some websites that have links to and from our Website from time to time may collect personal information about you when you access or utilise those links. We do not control the collection or use of such information, and the practices of those websites are not covered by this Privacy Policy.

Some websites that have links to and from our Website from time to time may also use their own cookies. We have no access to, or control over these cookies, and you are advised to check the cookie policies on such other websites.

Who do we share your personal information with?

Necessary Disclosure:

It is necessary to disclose your personal information to:

(a)    HMRC where you require us to submit your tax return;

(b)     our employees and agents for the purpose of providing you with the Product and Service.

(c)    anyone who may take over the operation of the Website or who may purchase any or all of our assets, including your personal information (we will contact you using the details you provide if there is any change in the person controlling your information).

As a result of us disclosing your personal information to any of the parties mentioned above, your personal information may be held by us and additionally by the parties mentioned above.

We will not disclose your personal information to anyone other than those parties set out within this Privacy Policy without your consent, unless the law requires us to do so.

Your Rights to see your personal data

You have the right to see the personal data (as defined in the DPA) that we keep about you, on receipt of a written request, verification of your identity, and payment of a fee. If you are concerned that any of the personal information we hold on you is incorrect, please contact us at either of the addresses in the "Contact us" section below.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

We may modify our Privacy Policy from time to time in our sole discretion. If so, we will post a revised version of this Privacy Policy on the Website. We urge you to check the Privacy Policy regularly to obtain the most up to date copy. Updated versions of our Privacy Policy will be effective immediately when they are posted on the Website. Where appropriate we will email you to inform you of changes to our Privacy Policy.
