Ftax has been recognised by HMRC as an online tax filing service since the 2002/03 tax year.
The Ftax service was setup by three entrepreneurs in two garden sheds back in 2002. Originally called FastTax, it was the flagship service of Legatio Technologies, a business that developed online form services for a range of customers. As the business grew and moved into offices, Legatio was purchased by Callcredit Ltd in 2007. The Ftax service continued to expand before being purchased by Ablegatio Ltd, a company setup by the Ftax team in 2017. Ever since then all profits have been poured back into service development. The business now aims to become the leading UK supplier of online accounting and tax filing services for small businesses, tax agents, and small accounting practices.
Ftax has been recognised by HMRC as an online tax filing service since the 2002/03 tax year. The current Ftax Director helped found the service in 2002. Most of the Ftax team of experts have been with service almost as long. For a few years, the Ftax team also ran the Welsh language online tax filing service on behalf of HMRC.
All forms are regularly updated to stay in line with HMRC’s changing requirements. As the iXBRL and MTD initiatives were introduced by HMRC, the Ftax service was updated to embrace these new features. Ftax are committed to follow all future changes stipulated by HMRC.
