MTD for Income Tax adds four filings a year to every affected client. Ftax prices that as credits you buy once, so the cost of compliance stays predictable across the whole portfolio.
A credit covers all four quarterly updates and the end-of-year return for that client. Nothing extra falls due in January.
20 credits for £150 plus VAT. Every third bundle of the same product is free, so 60 credits cost £300.
Import client income and expense figures by CSV from your own spreadsheet, or record them in the Ftax Cashbook.
Ftax has been recognised by HMRC for online tax filing for over 20 years, across Self Assessment, VAT, CT600 and MTD.
Ftax was built for practices filing on behalf of others. Client details, credits, invoices and submission data all sit in one Ftax Account, and every successful submission is archived against the client.
Two routes, depending on how the client keeps records:
Export income and expense totals as a CSV file and import them straight into the quarterly update form.
Record transactions in the Cashbook and the totals carry through to the quarterly update form. Agent Cashbook credits start at £12.50, or 10 credits for £100.
Choose the bundle that matches your client list. Forms can be opened and used straight away.
Follow the agent MTD step-by-step guide, then authorise MTD for Income Tax from your Ftax Account.
Enter the client name, UTR and National Insurance number, then bring in their income and expense figures.
Send the quarterly update to HMRC. The submission is archived against the client with a stamped PDF copy.
Most of the cost of MTD for Income Tax is decided by how your software charges, not by how the filing works. It is worth checking the year-end position before you sign anything.

The Ftax software is “brilliant”, and I would never consider going anywhere else. The design of the web forms are intuitive and easy-to-use, even for a technophobe like me. They are a big improvement on the PDF forms.

I have been submitting tax returns via Ftax for the past fifteen years, and this has been the easiest, and
Your web forms (Partnership and SA100) are easy to navigate – the website works well, and it just eases the burden … … like I imagine everyone else – I am on your site only once a year – its an enjoyable enough experience. So, thank you.
